Winner of the "most eco-friendly tourism project in Kerala- 1999-2000", it got a feather in its cap when the Indian Prime Minister chose to travel in it for his Kerala sojourn.

ACCOMMODATION

It has 10 well appointed rooms with large windows on the lower deck. The upper deck has a spacious lounge, a sun-deck as well as dinning areas.

The Sun Deck in front of the boat is an ideal place for basking in the sun. It is adorned with antique carved pillars from ancient temples. As Vaikundam is a huge boat, local boats are hired for sight seeing to places off shore.Some of the places, which lie enroute (depending on the number of days one is on the cruise) are, Thottapally, Mannar (brass market & rice mill), Thakazhi.
