About Binsar

Binsar is a pretty hill town in Uttaranchal, about 30 kilometers beyond Almora in the Kumaon region. It’s a great place to go camping and trekking, with the added attraction of being a bird watchers' paradise.

By Rail : Nearest railhead is Kathgodam, 116 kms.

By Road : Binsar is well connected by roads to all prominent towns - Amora (26 kms), Nainital (90ksm) & Haldwani (120 kms)

MAIN ATTRACTIONS IN BINSAR

Jageshwar Temple : 65 kms from the resort is Jageshwar, the temple town. It is situated in a beautiful narrow valley surrounded by magnificent Deodar trees. Most of the temples here are dedicated to the various manifestations of Lord Shiva.

Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary : The Binsar wild life sanctuary encompasses an area of about 50 sq. Kms in the middle Himalaya near Almora. The forest abounds with wildlife - commonly seen are leopards, deer and wild boar.

Patal Bhuvaneshwar : Patal Bhuvaneshwar looks over steep green valleys to the Himalayan foothills, beyond which lies the glorious view of the snow-capped mountains. This underground cave complex is over 6000 years old.

Almora : (34 kms.) The district head quarter of Almora has still maintained its old traditional character which can be felt in the tiled roofed houses and paved streets. Places of tourist interest here are bright-end-corner, Chitai Temple, Kasar Devi, Deer Park, Nanda Devi temple & Ram Krishna Mission Ashram.
